ADDRESSING INEQUITIES IN CANCER PREVENTION, DETECTION AND
TREATMENT IN AFRICA THROUGH INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION
IN COLLABORATION WITH WEST AFRICAN PACRI CHAPTER
The conference will highlight the need to address the disparities in cancer care in Africa. In addition to cancer genomics, the conference will cover various other topics related to cancer care in Africa. Clinical trials are an important aspect of cancer care, and discussions will be held around increasing the participation of African populations in clinical trials, including ethical considerations and overcoming regulatory barriers. Social and economic factors, such as poverty, lack of education, and cultural beliefs, can also play a significant role in cancer care, and exploring ways to address these issues will be critical. Intersectionality of factors such as gender, age, and comorbidities can also affect access to cancer care, and discussions will be held around strategies to ensure equitable access to care for all populations. Finally, innovation and collaboration can play a critical role in addressing these challenges, and exploring partnerships between African and international institutions can help to bring about sustainable solutions to address the disparities in cancer care.
Overall, the conference will provide a forum to explore a wide range of topics related to cancer care in Africa and identify actionable solutions to improve cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.
