The Southern African Law Teachers Conference (SALTC) is a biennial conference hosted by a host University in partnership with the Society for Law Teachers of Southern Africa. The SALTC brings together legal educators, scholars, practitioners, and members of the legal community for enhanced legal education and research in the SADC region.

Important Dates:

  • Abstract submission deadline: 28 March 2025
  • Notification of acceptance: 11 April 2025
  • Deadline for registration: 13 June 2025

About the host

The University of Pretoria’s Faculty of Law is an internationally recognized leader in socially relevant legal research and education in South Africa, Africa, and around the world. Call for Abstracts

  • Delegates may submit an abstract for either of the proposed Southern African Law Teachers Conference (SALTC) sub-themes. Please the call for abstracts here.


    Abstract submission

  • Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and clearly outline the objectives, methodology, and relevance of the proposed paper to the theme of the conference.
  • Submissions must be original and previously unpublished work.
